Draper Hinks was approached by a vendor in at the end of 2020 to sell his fees. We sent out our normal mailer and had a number of replies from potential buyers. The practice for sale was in Leicestershire and under £200,000.
The vendor had Zoom calls with all five buyers. Nicola Draper reviewed all the offers sent in by the buyers before forwarding them to the vendor.

- Multiple 1 x fees
- Paid 50% of fees received for the first 2 years
OFFER TWO
- Multiple 1 x fees
- 50% of cash receipts
- Up to 48 monthly payments
- Maximum payment to be agreed for each client
- Payments to stop if client leaves
OFFER THREE
- Multiple 1 x fees
- 50% paid on completion
- 25% paid after 12 months
- 25% paid after 24 months
OFFER FOUR
- Multiple 1 x fees
- A third paid on completion
- A third paid after 12 months
- A third paid after 24 months
- 100% clawback years 1 & 2
OFFER FIVE
- Multiple 1.1 x fees
- 22% of fees received over 5 years.
A Zoom call was booked between the vendor and Nicola Draper to discuss the merits of each offer. Lots of other factors were taken into account such as proximity of the buyer’s office, charge out rates, availability of funding, experience of having bought before etc. One buyer was chosen so the deal was able to continue to its conclusion.
